DEFENCE
Defence
Through years of experience, Dowty has evolved its product adapted to its core purpose. For example, Dowty offers defence customers an extra-durable coating for their propellers for use in extreme operating environments.
Our propellers work in the some of the world’s harshest environments.
Powered by Dowty’s propellers, military transporters such as the Lockheed Martin C-130J Hercules and the Leonardo C-27J Spartan are reliable, efficient, and adaptable workhorses. Often first in and last out of humanitarian disaster areas, and recently used to deliver Covid-19 vaccines, the missions of the military transporter take them to some of the most hard-to-reach places on our planet. To enable continued performance in these very extreme conditions, our propeller system was designed to be easy to maintain and repair in the field, as well as being resistant to water and dust ingress.
Through years of experience, Dowty has evolved its product adapted to its core purpose. For example, Dowty offers defence customers an extra-durable coating for their propellers for use in extreme operating environments. Dowty’s propellers also equip amphibious aircraft and marine hovercraft and this experience has helped us develop our learning and capability for dealing with harsh operational environments.
