Dowty Propellers recently had the pleasure of speaking at the Royal Aeronautical Society (Gloucester and Cheltenham Branch) on ‘Keeping Propellers at the Cutting Edge of Aviation’.

Jordan White, lead manufacturing specialist at Dowty, gave the audience a brief background to Dowty’s history and blade manufacturing processes, as well as a forward look at aviation industry trends and the impact this is likely to have on future manufacturing techniques.

Simon Peckham, Dowty’s Senior Manufacturing Manager, also attended the event. “The lecture was very well-attended, and Jordan did a fantastic job of keeping the audience engaged throughout. I was proud to see what an excellent manufacturing engineer he has become. Thank you for the excellent leadership, Jordan!”

Jordan started at Dowty as an apprentice in 2012. Ten years on, Jordan is an integral member of Dowty’s production organisation; signing off technical specifications and drawings and ensuring that any subsequent manufacturing processes are aligned to the design requirements. Despite it being a very busy role, Jordan also finds time to mentor a number of manufacturing engineers and encourage the next generation of talent through the business.
