Dowty Propellers’ workforce of some 350 employees provides the expertise, knowledge and skills that maintain the company’s role as a propeller systems supplier of choice.
They bring the full range of skills for Dowty Propellers’ design, development, production and support of its products, covering such areas as aerodynamics, acoustics, control systems, mechanical design, stress analysis, reliability/maintainability, airworthiness and flight test, along with a fully-staffed team to support production, in-service support and all business and commercial activities. A particular focus is on composites design – retaining the company’s leadership in modern composite propellers, which it pioneered in the aviation industry.
Many of employees have 30 or more years of service, ensuring maturity and continuity; while the company’s established relationships with educational institutes provide young, motivated apprentices who are ready to build the future.
Dowty Propellers’ in-house research and development efforts are supported by its collaboration with leading research and academic institutes in the UK, continental Europe and beyond.
In addition to the company’s own global locations – with headquarters in Gloucester, UK, along with maintenance, repair, overhaul and support facilities in Gloucester; Brisbane, Australia; and Sterling, Virginia in the U.S. – Dowty Propellers’ expanding team of mobile field service engineers are situated at key locations for aircraft operators, and are dispatched wherever necessary to perform repairs in the field.
